The Various Bags Used By Wiccans
Amalthea.

The Spirit Pouch / Nanta Bag.

This bag contains miniature ritual tools and is mainly used when travelling or when you are away from home base, though some Wiccans carry them daily. The colour of this bag is neutral and energy / power herbs can be added.

The Speculem Bag / Divination Bag.

This bag contains your divination tool or tools, be they Tarot cards, Rune Dice, Crystal Ball or a collection of objects such as stones, shells, bones etc. The colour of this bag is black and the herb mugwort in added to this bag.

The Amuletic Bag / Protection Bag.

This bag is used for personal protection to avert bane and negativity from the wearer.

Other protection amulets may be added to the bag, such as a pentacle, runes etc. Mostly, it consists of stones, crystals and protection herbs.

For psychic attack wear over Solar plexus region, normally it can be tied to the upper arm, wrist, ankle or placed in the hem of a garment. The colour of this bag can be red, or black tied with red tread.

Travel protection bags are carried in your luggage or car.

House protection Bags are placed in the home or hung over outside doors.

Talismanic Bags.

These bags are used to draw or attract certain things or energies to you and personal items like nail cuttings, hair, menstrual blood / blood, semen are added to this bag to personalise it.

Talismanic bags are used to attract love, friendship, health, healing, money, employment etc. to you.

Each type of energy will have its own colour which will aid the attracting ability of your bag.

Health : blue.
Healing : green.
Love, Lust, Sexual Power, Energy raising for rites : red.
Friendship : rose or pink.
Money, Employment, Wealth : green.
Spirituality : violet, purple.
Add the stones, crystals, herbs, shells, pods, corn, beans and seeds etc. appropriate to your need.

The Putsi / Luck Bag.

This is a larger bag than normal for it is a type of collecting bag.

If you find an item or are attracted to something while doing the "Walk About " thing, it is added to your " Put-See " to attract luck to self.

The item may be given to you or a stone, a shell, a coin, a bead, a feather, a crystal, a seed pod , flower or leaf, in fact anything unusual or strange is picked up and added to the bag.

Start your bag with stone and herb luck attracting energies and Gaia and her elemental helpers will provide the rest.

This bag is normally worn on your left side and at waist level.

You may also add Zodiac, Rising Sign and Moon aspect of your chart to this bag, using stones and herbs that relate to them, nail cuttings etc. to personalise it.

Use your Zodiac colour or any other colour for this bag, the choice is yours.

Herb collecting Bag.

This bag should have three compartments and be fairly large, for it is used to collect herbs, roots, bark, etc.

Use a gold plated knife for male positive energy herbs and your Boline for female negative energy herbs, also carry a sharp pair of clippers, [never break or tear branches, it may kill the tree or bush.] a small spade, string, labels pen and offerings for elementals.

This bag should be canvas and green if possible.

A similar Bag can be used when out tracking Ley lines or collecting rocks and minerals.

Rock and mineral bags are usually of leather.

N.B: Please remember that once you have programmed a stone or herb, never use it for any other purpose.

Keep all such stones in separate clearly labelled boxes for future spell work of the same nature.

Only a crystal can be programmed for different uses, in one type of bag or hanging from a cord.

It is better to keep your healing crystals in a special bowl or box and use them only for that purpose. Clean them immediately after each healing session or daily if you are wearing them while ill.
