Spontaneous regressions are often triggered by certain places, objects,
smells etc. They can be dramatic, vivid & detailed, or a sudden knowing far
less dramatic or detailed but equally can shake a person to the core, these
memories are often repres sed out of fear & lack of understanding.
Meditation is another method by which past life memories can be recalled. It
is not unusual for those who practise meditation regularly to catch glimpses
or impressions of past life experiences . Quite often concepts which have
been previously unders tood & knowledge which has been learned in previously
lifetimes are brought into the conscious mind in this way.
Small children often have clear memories of past lives, which fade as they
grow older. The day dreams they experience, their play & chatter, their
fears, often have roots in their past life. All too often parents are to busy
to listen or discourage d ay dreaming as something undesirable. So as
children get older they tend to suppress these mental activities which are
the tools for living a full life.
Children's dreams, as well as those of adults sometimes have bits & pieces of
past life memories. Nightmares often give clues & have their basis in some
unhappy or frightening experience from the past.
There are various methods to programme yourself to remember past lives
through dream state. [A form of self hypnosis.]
Deja vu is a term often associated with reincarnation & past life memory. It
is a French term meaning "seen before or already seen". It is usually applied
to instances in which you have a sudden feeling you have had a particular
conversation before, or have been in a new place before & you know that this
is impossible but true. This could mean that you have had an astral projected
to this place in dream state or it could be a past life experience. Often we
have prophetic type dreams which we do n't consciously remember which may
have their roots in past life or not. If the Deja vu is past life orientated
other information will emerge through dream state & waking state in the weeks
& months that follow.
Conventional hypnosis is probably the most frequently used method used for
past life regression. Done by a professional, careful & competent hypnotist
who has no prejudice against reincarnation can be difficult to find, such a
hypnotist will also be expensive.
When using regression techniques other than hypnotism done by a therapist,
you are in control & can avoid answering any questions, yet retain the
information for your own use, You can be guided by a responsible person of
your choice who you trust, at your convenience, in your own home if you
choose, without cost & after a few regressions, if you choose you can
programme yourself to remember your past lives.

PAST LIFE REGRESSION 2.
SOME MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION.
During the relaxation exercise, some individuals experience a feeling of
warmth or a tingling sensation in various areas of their body as their
attention is directed to that area.
This is perfectly normal. The warm feeling is due to increased circulation in
that area caused by the focus of your attention.
The tingling feeling is due to an increased awareness of the nervous system
in those areas.
DO NOT BE CONCERNED if you did not feel either of these sensations, that is
perfectly normal too.
Another physical phenomena which may be noted to one degree or another
throughout the regression is the rapid eye movement of the eyes underneath
the lids or a fluttering of the eyes.
This is R. E. M. Rapid Eye Movement & is a physical manifestation of the deep
Alpha levels on which on which the person is mentally operating.
This phenomena is also present during the dream sequence of sleep.
Immediately following the regression is a good time to make note of any
additional details which the person may remember but did not mention during
the regression. This often happens, the person being regressed answers only
to the questions being dir ected & will not volunteer any other information
with out prompting.
It is also important to note down anyone recognised during the regression as
one known in this life time.
DO NOT BE DISTURBED if initially after the regression you feel a little
uncomfortable or embarrassed or feel as if you made the whole thing up.
This is not uncommon, but the feeling rapidly fades as spontaneous memories
begin to occur though both waking & dream state.
The first regression experience is basically intended to elicit general
information & set the scene for later more detailed regressions.
DO NOT BE DISTURBED if you fail to reach the end of the tunnel or back down
at this point, many people abort at this point through fear or self
consciousness. You can always try again at some later date.
If desired specific lifetimes may be revisited by stating " You will be in
the lifetime you lived as ........" If no name is remembered, the lifetime
may be identified by time period, location or any other outstanding
identifying feature.
If there is an attraction to a certain time period or locale, you may be
directed or direct a person there by saying; " You will be in any lifetime
you may have lived during ..... or in ......"
Always use the phrase " MAY HAVE LIVED" the attraction may exist for reasons
other than past lives.
There is no reason to subject the subconscious to the confusion of being told
to remember a lifetime which never happened.
One very rewarding approach to subsequent regressions is to direct the
individual to regress back to " The lifetime which is most significant to you
today in your life time as........."
If the person being regressed has a specific problem & he or she wants to
investigate, direct the individual to go " To the point in time where this
problem had its origin"
THIS SHOULD NOT BE DONE until the person has had some regression experience &
feels comfortable with the technique.
It should be done ONLY with the understanding that if the problem is very
traumatic in this lifetime, it has the potential of being even more so at its
point of origin.
Reassure the person often during the regression that " you are physically
here & now & this is simply an exercise in remembering. There is no need for
you to experience distress of any kind, on any level"
Encourage the person to disassociate himself / herself from the situation &
observe as if watching a movie or T V set.
It is seldom necessary to be this aggressive in looking for origins of
problems, as the answers will usually surface during the course of several
regressions.
After a person has had a few regressions, it is possible to do self directed
regressions & finding the origin of the problem is much simpler.
Self directed regressions are the most desirable method of exploring
situations of this nature.
There is a protective mechanism within the mind which protects an individual
from forcing his / her recall into areas that he / she is not ready to handle
for some reason.
If during the course of a regression, you direct someone to move ahead a few
years in that lifetime & the person arrives in a " BLACK " spot with no
sensory input it is probably after the death experience.
Just direct the individual back into another lifetime .[ SEE methods for
death experience.]
After you have gained some confidence & feel comfortable conducting a
regression you may find that there are modifications which are appropriate
for your circumstances & the people you are working with.
You may find a different type or pattern of questions easier to work with,
feel free to change your approach as circumstances dictate.
The exact method is not sacred. The only parts of the technique which are
important & should not be changed are those statements establishing the
awareness & control of the person being regressed & the positive statements
used in terminating the ses sion.
You do have a duty to use the technique in a careful, thoughtful manner,
knowing that this is not a " PARLOUR GAME" & one should use responsibility
when using the technique.
During regression, especially the first one, it is not unusual for there to
be no response to certain questions; name, age, date, locale etc.
If no response is elicited to one or more of these questions just say "
That's all right" & move on.
As with any new experience, it may take a time or two to become proficient at
recalling information.
As proficiency builds, some individuals may be able to recall such detailed
information as exact birth date & time in some more recent lifetimes.
Astrological birth charts for past lifetimes often provide interesting
insight into the present lifetime.
Past life regression is just one more step on the path to self awareness.
[KNOW THYSELF ]
When the day comes that being regressed or directing a regression is no
longer fresh or exciting & no new information of any real value is being
obtained, move on. Later you will probably find that occasionally a need for
additional information or so me other reason will occur which will spark the
desire for further regressions.
Use it as you would use any other tool for the job.

PAST LIFE REGRESSION 3
MENTAL & EMOTIONAL ATTITUDES.
Persons being regressed are vulnerable to the emotions & mental attitudes of
those around them.
Every effort should be made to keep the atmosphere positive & light.
A healthy sense of humour is not out of place & will often help ease the
tension.
Avoid cultivating the feeling that regression is some sort of a test & those
present will judge them on their recall or non recall. This is not a pass or
fail situation.
This is just an experience in recalling memories from the far past.
Those who regularly recall their dreams in a group situation feel more at
ease during regression recall.
Just as it is easier for some people to recall detailed memories from early
childhood than it is for others, so some at first, will find it easier to
recall detailed memories from another life time.
RECORDS.
Keeping records is an important part of past life regressions.
At first written records are only practical if a third person is present to
take notes.
Trying to take notes while learning the technique for conducting regression
is like learning to juggle raw eggs for the first time---nerve wracking.
If you are taking notes often the answer will be enough to tell what the
question was, if not include a few Key words so that later the reader will
understand the question.
If you don't understand what the person being regressed has said, feel free
to ask them to repeat it.
Some people freeze up in the presence of someone close to them or a tape
recorder or at least become self conscious.
Another reason to keep records is that after a regression you will find that
the person being regressed will remember a great deal more than they
verbalised & those additional details can add a great deal of meaning &
insight into regression.
The person being regressed should have the full regression written into their
Mirror Book along with date, time, phase of Moon, state of health & emotions,
before & after regression.

PAST LIFE REGRESSION 4.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE PERSON DIRECTING THE REGRESSOR.
Keep a positive, relaxed attitude.
Conducting regressions can be very valuable experiences for you in your own
regressions.
Also the more expertise you gain in conducting regressions, the better you
will be at asking questions & eliciting important information.
Be observant during the regressions, watch for signs of undue stress,
confusion or tension.
The signs are: agitated hand movements, rapid breathing, clenched fists, a
clenched jaw, abnormal or uncontrolled laughter, tears when combined with any
of the other signs.
Tears alone are not necessarily something to be concerned about as they are
often a healthy catharsis, especially if they are appropriate to the
particular incident.
If you should be faced with a situation where the person being regressed is
obviously in great distress, calmly & matter of fact ask if something is
bothering them & if they would prefer to end the regression or skip that
event & go onto something el se.
Calmly remind them they are " here & now ."
Tell them " This is simply an exercise in remembering. There is no need for
you to experience any pain or distress of any kind on any level."
If the person being regressed indicates that he / she would prefer to end the
regression, repeat the positive statements at the end of the regression
technique.
If they wish to continue, simply give them instructions to progress to a
time, a week, month, year or what ever span of time after the incident &
proceed.
Their memory will be triggered & sometimes it is easier to discuss it & deal
with it outside of regression with less emotional involvement.
DO NOT PRESS the individual to talk about the incident if they show signs of
reluctance, but do provide a sympathetic, non- judgmental atmosphere in any
Do let them know that discussing what ever caused the distress will help
release the emotions involved & put it into perspective & make it easier to
deal with, but do not insist.

PAST LIFE REGRESSION 5.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE PERSON BEING REGRESSED.
RELAX, This is simply an exercise in exploring your far memory.
There are no right or wrong answers.
Answer the questions asked with the first impressions that come to mind.
DO NOT try to think out your answers or correlate impressions with generally
excepted facts.
Often information which is at variance with recorded history later proves to
be accurate.
In numerous instances recorded history has little or nothing to do with what
actually happened.
You may receive information in any or all of several ways.
Some individuals feel that they are actually participating in re- living a
particular lifetime with all the accompanying sensory input.
More commonly the sensations are one of being an observer & watching events
unfold.
Others may have little or no visual impressions, but may hear, taste, smell,
feel & or generally sense surroundings & events.
There are some who get the main part of their information through physical
sensations.
Others seem to have no real sensory input but simply " Know" the answers to
the questions.
No one way of receiving information is any better than or more accurate than
another.
Regression is a way of getting to know yourself, learn to be sensitive to
subtle changes in your senses & your body during the regression experience.
These changes are all ways of getting information.
Being sensitive to these subtle impressions helps to focus the mind on that
particular lifetime & will encourage more vivid impressions & sensory input.
With each gets easier each time you under go regression.
WHAT IF I CAN NOT BE REGRESSED? You ask.
According to Florence Wagner Mc Clain's book, " A Practical Guide To Past
Life Regression" from which these notes have been taken.
Every one can be regressed even those who do not believe in the occult &
reincarnation.
There is little about the regression experience which is critical.
If you become uncomfortable, change position, if you itch, scratch. If the
telephone rings you can relay information through whomever answers it,[
though it is best in the early regression sessions to take the phone off the
hook.] Just keep your eyes closed & after the interruption continue with the
regression where you left off.
A glass of water can be kept close at hand in case you are thirsty & you may
smoke if you wish as long as you keep your eyes closed.
You are in control during the regression session.
You may terminate the session at any point by simply opening your eyes, but
if you terminate the session this way, DO Affirm to yourself
" I WILL BRING WITH ME ALL INFORMATION & IMPRESSIONS WHICH WILL BENEFIT ME, I
WILL LEAVE BEHIND ANYTHING WHICH MIGHT BE DETRIMENTAL TO ME IN ANY WAY."
The reason for ending a session with these statements is that often this is
necessary to free your present self from undesirable feelings, fears,
reactions & attitudes which have their roots in past life experiences.
During the regression you are in control & may refuse to explore any
experience which is disagreeable to you or which you choose to explore
privately at another time.
Please do not use this to ignore information which you need to think about &
deal with.
DO NOT USE ANY DRUGS OR ALCOHOL before being regressed. The effects of these
substances on the mind can produce unnecessary complications during the
regression, the least of which will be a distorted experience & invalid
information. At these levels of mind alcohol & drugs including those bought
over the counter at the chemist or supermarket, diminish your control over
the direction of the regression & you could end up triggering highly
traumatic responses without any mental defences.
In other instances very trivial information can seem to be terribly
important, while important information can be missed. Experience has shown
that often after the regression little or no further information is forth
coming & no clear perception of t he experience is retained.
You should be in control of the regression experience at all times. The
person or persons present are there to aid you & help you focus upon your
attention until such time that you can regress yourself.
If the person directing you attempts to take aggressive control of the
regression or persists in asking leading questions, or is not conducting
themselves properly in some manner, terminate the session & refuse to work
with them again in the future. Be honest with yourself.
If you claim impressions which you do not experience or make up stories for
your audience, you are the one who loses the chance for an exciting &
valuable experience, DON'T CHEAT YOURSELF.

PAST LIFE REGRESSION 6.
DO NOT'S, RE -REGRESSION.
Do not use music during regression or during the relaxation exercises.
Music can often trigger associations or emotions which have nothing to do
with the particular past life under scrutiny & can confuse & distort the
situation.
Do not treat regression as a party game, if others are present they should be
relaxed & calm or taking notes.
Do not do joint regressions, two or more people regressing together back to
the same life time simultaneously or joint investigations of any type.
Often cross feed [ telepathy] between two people working at these levels of
mind can distort or cloud emotions & information.
Each persons mind voice is as distinctive as their speaking voice. Until you
can recognise the characteristics of your own mind voice as opposed to that
of another persons, you may well be influenced by some person or persons
trying to manipulate you in some way.
It is best to make your regression a solo experience for your own well being.
Do not use incense during the relaxation or regression period as it to may
influence & distort the regression.
ENDINGS & BEGINNINGS.
How often it has been said that behind most men's fears is the fear of the
unknown.
How often death has been called " The Great Unknown", but it need not be so.
One of the most rewarding aspects of regression is the ability to explore
one's own death experiences.
When the unknown becomes familiar, there is nothing to fear.
Not all death experiences are traumatic, most are peaceful & welcomed at the
intended life span.
This does not imply that all planned life spans are long. Many times for one
purpose or another, the intended life span is relatively short, because
there may be only a limited amount of beneficial experience available within
a certain environment or time period to the person involved.
Neither should it be assumed from those statements that the time of death is
rigidly fixed or predestined & that one cannot die until his / her time has
come & when the time has come he or she cannot escape it.
If this was so, then all our efforts to cure illnesses, prevent accidents,
protect ourselves from violence or do magic spells would be a wasted &
pointless effort.
Man has free will. It is man's rightful heritage. If this were not so then we
would be nothing more than helpless puppets, who's strings are manipulated by
some greater power & our accomplishments would be empty & our mistakes
without meaning.
Life would have no purpose & we might as well quit right now.

HOW TO BEGIN THE REGRESSION.
Have the person being regressed assume a comfortable position. Place a
blanket for warmth over them if it is cold or a sheet in the warmer months,
place water within easy reach.
Now begin by directing the person through the following standard relaxation
exercise.
Speak in a normal tone of voice.
1. " CLOSE YOUR EYES, DIRECT YOUR AWARENESS TO YOUR EYELIDS."
Pause for about 2-3 seconds.
" NOTICE ANY MUSCLES THAT MAY BE TENSE "

14. "BECOME UNAWARE OF YOUR FEET. CAUSE YOUR FEET TO FEEL AS IF THEY DO NOT
BELONG TO YOUR BODY. TELL ME WHEN YOU HAVE DONE THIS. IT WILL ONLY TAKE A

Pause. ( Insist that the person responds to you verbally with a 'yes' every
time he/she completes an exercise. If the individual indicates a difficulty
in achieving the request tell him/her to 'imagine that their feet are no
longer a part of their bo dy'. When you receive a positive verbal response,
continue).
13. "GOOD! YOUR FEET NOW FEEL AS IF THEY DO NOT BELONG TO YOUR BODY."
14. "BECOME AWARE OF YOUR LEGS. CAUSE YOUR LEGS TO FEEL AS THOUGH THEY DO NOT
BELONG TO YOUR BODY. IT WILL ONLY TAKE A MOMENT. TELL ME WHEN YOU HAVE
DONE THIS."

substitute in the proper sequence in the following exercise.)

MOMENT. DESCRIBE HOW THE APPEARANCE OF THE BUILDING AND THE SURROUNDING AREA

When these preliminary exercises have been completed successfully at the
first session it is not necessary to repeat for subsequent sessions. BLESSED

THE REGRESSION AND QUESTIONS TO BE ASKED IN THE FIRST SESSION.
If this is the first session with a particular individual please see Past
Life Regression 7 first.
If this is not the first session with the subject the preliminary exercises
should be left out and the following procedure should be used.
TELL THE PERSON TO "RELAX BY TAKING A DEEP BREATH AND WHILE EXHALING REPEAT
THE WORD 'RELAX' 3 TIMES."
1. "IMAGINE THAT YOU ARE STANDING IN FRONT OF THE DOOR OF YOUR HOME."
2. "IMAGINE THAT YOU ARE OPENING THE DOOR."
3. "IMAGINE THAT THE DOOR OPENS INTO A LONG DARK TUNNEL AND THAT YOU CAN SEE
A LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL."
4. "I AM GOING TO COUNT FROM 20 - 1 AND WITH EACH DESCENDING NUMBER IMAGINE
THAT YOU ARE MOVING DOWN THE TUNNEL TOWARDS THE LIGHT AND MOVING BACK
THROUGH THIS LIFE TIME TO A TIME YOU LIVED PREVIOUSLY TO THIS ONE."
Short pause.
5. "20" pause, "19" pause, "18! MOVING TOWARDS THE LIGHT. BACK THROUGH TIME
TO A LIFETIME YOU LIVED PREVIOUS TO THIS ONE." "17" pause, "16" pause, "15!
MOVING TOWARDS THE LIGHT AND BACK THROUGH TIME. 14" pause, "13" pause, "12!
AT THE COUNT OF ONE YO U WILL BE IN A LIFETIME PREVIOUS TO THIS ONE. 8"
pause, "7" pause, "6! BACK THROUGH TIME. 5" pause, "4" pause, "3! AT THE
COUNT OF 1 YOU WILL STEP FROM THE TUNNEL IN TO THE LIGHT AND IN TO A LIFETIME
WHICH YOU LIVED PREVIOUS TO THIS ONE. 2" pause, " 1! YOU ARE NOW IN A
LIFETIME WHICH YOU LIVED PREVIOUS TO THIS ONE."
6. "MENTALLY LOOK OUT THROUGH YOUR EYES AND LISTEN THROUGH YOUR EARS.
MENTALLY LOOK DOWN AT YOUR FEET. WHAT ARE YOU WEARING?"
Pause for response.
7. "WHAT ARE YOU WEARING ON YOUR BODY? DESCRIBE IT."
Pause for response.
The following questions may be used for example to continue the session but
one should use intuition and be guided by the subjects responses.
8. "WHAT AGE ARE YOU?"
9 "ARE YOU MALE OR FEMALE?"
10. "WHAT IS YOUR NAME?"
11. "MENTALLY LOOK OUT THROUGH YOUR EYES AND LISTEN WITH YOUR EARS. WHERE ARE
YOU?"
12. "DESCRIBE YOUR SURROUNDINGS."
13. "WHAT PART OF THE WORLD ARE YOU IN?"
14. "WHAT YEAR OR TIME PERIOD IS IT?"
15. "WHAT SEASON IS IT?"
16. "WHAT IS OR WAS YOUR MOTHERS NAME?"
17. "WHAT DOES YOUR MOTHER LOOK LIKE?"
18. "HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT HER? DO YOU HAVE A GOOD RELATIONSHIP?"
Ask the same about the father, brothers, sisters and friends.
19. "DESCRIBE A DAY IN YOUR LIFE. HOW DO YOU SPEND THE TIME?"
20. "MOVE FORWARD IN TIME TO A POINT WHEN YOU ARE APPROXIMATELY 5 YEARS
OLDER. IT WILL ONLY TAKE A MOMENT. YOU WILL FEEL THE TIME PASSING AROUND
YOU LIKE CURRENTS OF AIR OR THE PAGES FLIPPING OFF A CALENDAR. TELL ME AS
SOON AS YOU ARE THERE."
Pause for response.
21. "MENTALLY LOOK OUT THROUGH YOUR EYES AND LISTEN THROUGH YOUR EARS. WHERE
ARE YOU? WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"
22. "ARE YOU MARRIED? WHAT IS YOUR WIFE'S NAME."
23. "DO YOU HAVE CHILDREN? WHAT ARE THEIR NAMES?"
In the same manner scan the whole life backwards and forewords in 5 year
periods.
24. When you are ready to terminate the session say:
"IN A MOMENT I WILL COUNT FROM 1 TO 5. AT THE COUNT OF 5 YOU WILL OPEN YOUR
EYES IN THE HERE AND NOW FEELING ALERT AND REFRESHED. YOU WILL BRING WITH YOU
EVERYTHING ON EVERY LEVEL WHICH MIGHT BE BENEFICIAL TO YOU IN ANY WAY. YOU
WILL LEAVE BEHIND EVE RYTHING WHICH MIGHT BE DETRIMENTAL TO YOU IN ANY WAY."
25. "1- 2 - 3 AT THE COUNT OF 5 YOU WILL BE IN YOUR PRESENT LIFETIME AS
....... FEELING REFRESHED AND ALERT. 4 - 5 EYES OPEN. FEELING REFRESHED
AND ALERT."
