THE ANKH AS A SIGN & SYMBOL.
The Egyptian cross is the most sacred Pagan symbol & was known as the ankh.
The ankh is used by modern Pagan groups & by Temple magicians & other Occult
Groups world wide. It is seen today as a symbol of survival after death, a
Goddess symbol & a portal into other realms. It is used during magical work &
initiations & worn as a protective amulet. Today it has been branded by some
Christian Sects as being Satanistic, but it predates Christianity & its
constant rival Satanism. In early Christianity it was associated with Mary.
Esoteric Christians still see Mary as a portal for the birth of Christ into
matter, & She is part of the Holy Trinity, the Holy Ghost/ Spirit. To the
Pagans who originally converted She was the Great Goddess of Heaven, Earth,
The Moon & the Universe. Mary was only demoted to a mere mortal who never
died but ascended to Heaven, later in the church's history. With the
Reformation She became the third male aspect & the Holy Spirit became a male
entity.
The ankh was the representation of the creative power in the Universe. It was
carried by the Gods, the kings & the common man. Even the mummied dead wore
this symbol of ever lasting life. Its popularity spread to neighbouring
countries & spread to all four points of the compass, carried there by those
initiated into the Egyptian Mysteries.
The top part of the ankh is the hieroglyphic RU set upright on the TAU which
formed the T part of the ankh. [ The Tau is also known as the HAMMER OF THOR]
The Ru is the hieroglyph for door, portal, gate, womb, mouth, the place of
outlet, [ death] rebirth & eternity. This denotes the birth place in the
Northern quarter of the Heavens from which the Sun is reborn [Horus]. Hence
the ankh sign is the feminine aspect of Deity. [ Isis] & the ankh is the
promise of rebirth to mankind. It was in the Northern quarter that the
Goddess of the Seven Stars called " The Mother of the Revolutions " gave
birth to time & to the earliest cycle of the year, similiar to the Celtic
Goddess Arianrhod & Her Wheel Of Seasons & the cycles & " The Spiral of Life
, Death & Rebirth."
The first sign of this primordial circle & cycle in Heaven is the earliest
shape of the ankh cross a mere loop which contains both circle & the cross in
one image. This loop is carried in front of the oldest genetrix, Typhon of
the Great Bear , as Her ark, the ideograph of a period, an ending, a time,
shown to mean one revolution in an eternal spiral. If one follows the story
of the Dragon King back far enough, one comes back to the son & consort of
the Great Bear, the Mother of Time & Life, & discovers that Arthur as a title
covers a hierachy of " People of the Great Bear" & the " Dragon Of The
Heavens." In this process we also discover a very interesting fact that
the Dragon king is the oldest of Gods. Pan in Greece, Atho to the Celts &
Shiva in the East.
According to E. A. Wallis Budge the sign of the ankh is a Pagan symbol of the
Ancient Egyptains brought into Christianity by the Copts & it was adopted as
an alternate symbol for the cross because of its meaning of Life, Living,
Rebirth & Internal Life of the Soul. Unfortunately the Christian cross also
had the meaning of sacrifice & the new Christians preferred the older symbol
for life & so both symbols were used by early Christians in Egypt who still
clung to their Pagan roots. It was found on steles, gravestones & within
graves, along side the newer symbol of life , the Christian cross.
According to Budge it was the oldest symbol used on an amulet in Dynastic
Egypt, to which they assigned the phonetic value of ankh or anh, wearing it
maintained life on all levels & in the religious sence it was automatically
bestowed on kings & also on souls who were acquitted in the "Halls of
Judgement." by Osirus & the 42 Assessors. Those who received the ankh from
the Gods lived for one hundred thousand million years.
Wearing the ankh was like having a key to the underworld, that allowed you
to pass through the many gates & their guardians on the way to the Hall of
Judgement, so was an amulet worn by old & young in life & in death.
When the Egyptians embraced Christianity in the 1st Century they gave up all
other Pagan Symbols but not the ankh, the Church Fathers then gave the ankh
to Mary who the new Christians saw as Isis Queen of Heaven. Budge also says
that the ankh is a conventional representation of the reproductive organs of
the human body, a symbol of creation of new life.
Both Isis & Mary were seen as Mother figures who gave life to the God reborn,
both are depicted as standing on Earth with a snake at Her feet, [ In Pagan
sence it represents wisdom , in Christianity the crushing of the serpent
Lucifer.] She holds t he child reborn in Her hands or has Her hands raised in
blessing & is crowned with the crescent moon & a circle of Stars. In the case
of Isis the ankh is present. Both Isis & Mary were known as the Queen of
Heaven who had 3 aspects, ever Virgin, Mother & wise Crone.
BLESSED BE.
MEETING THE KING OF THE ELEMENT FIRE. ELEMENTS 11.
1. Do this meditation on a sunny day, or inside or outside near a fire.
2. Now close you eyes & take several deep breaths to relax.
Breathe in the energy created by the sun, feel its warmth, know that with
each breath you are aligning with your fire element more closely. Notice how
this energy of sun & fire dances on your face & body, feel it moving in your
veins & arteries, feel it caress your skin, know that the power of fire is
alive & well within your body, filling it with the passion for life. Now
breathe deeply again of the suns energy & know that as you do, you are
calling forth your own personal salamander to help you in meeting the King
of the Element Fire.
3. As you relax, begin to visualize the scene changing around you. You are
standing at the base of a great volcano. The Earth about you is charred &
parched. Steam rises sporadically from cracks & fisures in the Earth. The sun
is strong upon your face & head. The whole area appears parched & lifeless,
but you are stimulated &you know you would not be so if there were no life
Although the sun is warm upon you it is not uncomfortable. In fact you find
it powerful & stimulating. With each breath you seem to draw more of
its energy into you, as if you can draw it in & radiate it back again. As you
breath deeply, the Earth trembles beneath your feet. You raise your eyes to
the mouth of the volcano above you & suddenly see it as a portal between
worlds. Steam & flames erupt suddenly from it, filling the air above with
heat & light. The colours of the flames are intense, so strong that the sun
is lost behind them & just as suddenly, all is still.
You are not afraid. Instinctively you know that in spite of the activity
there is no danger. In fact you are thrilled & feel more alive now than you
have felt in ages.
Then again the Earth trembles beneath your feet. Some of the fissures &
cracks widen, fire & steam pours forth from them. It is beautiful ! You
are amazed at the play of the flames darting through the seams & cracks as
they rise up, then disappear, to reappear somewhere else. Then you notice
that it seems to be moving towards you. At first fearful of what its
temperature might be, you are surprised to find it warm &soothing. There is a
powerful gentleness to it that borders on the erotic & energizes you on all
levels. It is a fire that does not burn & destroy but energizes.
As it forms around you the volcano disappears from view, as does the sun. You
are immersed in the swirling steam & dancing flames then you see the vague
outline of a form within. The flames & steam actually seem
