Bonding ritual
Coven of the wheel bonding rite Invocation to the god

Priest: " O Thoth, ancient god of the wise
master of word and symbol, rise.
here as our work has began
now that the day is done.
I call thee in the ancient way
asking that you'll hear us pray
here in our circle round
send thy wisdom down."

All: " blessed be tehuti " chant until priest raises his arms.

Invocation to the Goddess.

Priestess: " beloved Isis, spread your wings over us with thy blessings,
Beloved mother, protect your children & instruct them in your magic
Beloved Isis, charge our circle with your power
Beloved mother we give you honour!

All: "blessed be Isis" all chant Aset until priestess raises her arm.

Water rings bell 3 times.

All sit in a circle around the triangle of goblets.

Priest: takes up the first of the candles & carves his rune on it, it is then passed around the circle deosil & replaced in its holder, in the meanwhile the 2nd & 3rd candle are following the same course.

Air: now oils the candles, & blesses them.

Fire now lights them with blessing.

Earth now fills each cup with wine

Each one present now takes a goblet & breathing gently into it, visualises all they wish to banish from themselves & those within the coven, when they are done they place their goblet down within the triangle.

Elder: [starts music here.]

Priest moves to the centre of the circle with athame.

Starting in the north each person dances until they are tired, then the next one in the circle moves off & so on until every one has had a turn. If others within the circle wish to continue the dancing they wait for the cue of the person who danced before them in the previous round, when the last one has danced, the priest points the athame at the triangle & then taps each goblet & says:

"We have filled these magic cups with excesses.
Beloved gaia change them into good before we drink from them." [each one takes their cup]

Priest says: " blessed be gaia." [ & drinks]

All: " blessed be gaia." [& each one drinks]

Priest: " blessings to all who came to our aid between friends this bargain is made, ashes to gold no more strife, for the gods shall guide us for the rest of our lives. Before our gods , bonded we are, linked by invisible threads no matter how far."

Starting in the north each one hugs & kisses each one present.

Water rings bell 3 times for cakes & ale.

Return to esbat rite.

Blessed be.
