This involves stating our objectives, usually 3 fold. Greeting the maiden & thanking Herne for his protection. Lay down a white cord to form a pentacle or draw one on the ground. 5 people stand at each point, the rest form a circle. Each of the 5 wear white robes, crowns of spring flowers & carry white candles. Priest & Priestess stand in the middle of pentacle, slightly to the east a candle is placed along with incense & burner, salt, & water, cakes & ale, do silent call to elements. Each person with in the pentacle points speaks in turn, while the others dance around circle.

On this day we remember the Goddess who left us as crone at Samhaine & is to return to us, Lady bring the spring.

Lady, the snowdrops have pushed their way through the cold wet earth & we dream of your return, come back to us Lady & bring the spring.

The birds return from their winter home, Lady bring the spring.

The plants which went down into the earth with you are close to renewal, come back to us Lady, bring the spring.

The trees are waiting to bring forth new leaves, come back to us Lady & bring the spring.

Come back from the caves of Annwn, where souls are purged of pain & sorrow.

Return from hell, where souls are purged of grief & despair, blessed underworld.

Come to us from the mists of Avalon & the sacred well.

Come to us from Tir-nan-og the land of blessed rest.

Return from the land of Faerie, where you have dreamed long dreams of summer.
