The Calling of a Special Soul for Child

When the time comes & both parents are healthy & ready to begin their family or extend it, this rite is done. Begin to record your dreams if you do not already do so. Often a soul wishing to come in will communicate through dream-state. Each night before you sleep the two prospective parents should send out a call to the soul that will eventually become their child. There are many souls that you have previously known who may wish to be with you now.

It is best not to try & impose a definite sex upon the soul. It may need to be a male when you want a female or vice versa. Instead offer it love & a pagan lifestyle & welcome it to your home & life. Do not call some loved one who has passed over & is known to you, they may not be ready to come again at this time.

Set up altar with white cloth, white flowers in a vase. A grain of rice on a white napkin, white candle, incense & burner, salt, & a dish of water, cakes & ale.

Man blesses incense & lights it, then blesses the candle & lights it.

Woman blesses salt & water, & sprinkles the area.

Woman:

Great mother of the loving heart, we open our lives & our bodies to the soul you hold in your arms. If that soul is one who has been part of our lives before, then we will welcome it back, and if it is newly sent to us, then it is still welcome.

We have prepared ourselves for this moment with meditation & prayer. We look to the future with hope & joy. I offer my womb to the soul & therein I shall weave a body for its physical clothing. In the time of my delivery I will call upon you for help & support. Be with us then as the soul enters through the portal of birth.

Man:

Mother of the sun child, I offer my life force to help create the body for this soul, that waits for us to call it into the world. I will be a protector & its guardian while it is young. I will try to teach the child those things it should know to be worthy of the life it has been given.

When the time comes, I will set its feet upon its own path, that it may work out its own blue print.

Be with me as I try to understand the child's needs. I will share its joys & sorrows & try to teach patience & tolerance & above all, love of life.

The man now puts the grain of rice into the cup of ale / wine & blesses it, Then says:

This cup I take to be a symbol of the welcoming womb of this woman, the grain of rice the seed that will cause it to become fertile with the physical body of this child we so desire.

Blessed be this cup & the ale /wine within.
Blessed be the grain of rice that it may symbolise my seed.
Blessed be this moment in time.

Gives the cup to the woman to drain, & pours a second cup for himself.

The woman now blesses the second cup & holds it for him to drink, she then blesses the cakes & they share them, leaving some for the offering.

Woman says:

Blessed be the fruitful harvest,
Blessed be our earth
Blessed be all present.

Both say:

Blessed be the gods.

Snuff the candle. This rite is done.

N. B: A circle may be cast if desired.

This ritual is done for 3 nights running, just before the woman's most fertile time in her moons cycle.
