SHELLS USED IN MAGIC & CRAFTWORK.

Shells can be found worldwide throughout the world.

For best results use shells that have been washed up on the beach instead of

those commercially available which are usually harvested for the shell

market, in other words the animals are killed for proffit.

This type of shell is of lesser value &those that wish to use them should do

a ritual of release for these beings who had their life spans cut short by

ABALONE: General use; used to contain empowered herbs, magical potpourri, to

hold stones, cakes, & other offerings or as an incense burner.

CLAM SHELL: Use as above, also used for purification & love / sex spells. A

small shell etched with a rune makes a potent talisman.

CONCHES: Love spells, Fertility rites & Handfasting.

CONE SHELLS: Used in protective spellcraft. Used to represent God form. Use

as arrow tip for Shaman's arrow or tip of water wand.

COWRIES: Cowries are specific tools of prosperity & money, female mysteries,

fertility rites, Goddess symbol, carry one to draw money & increase

fertility.

LEFT HAND WELK: Used to make dramatic positive changes in your life.

LIMPETS: Courage, strength & confidence. Large limpets can be used as incense

burners & to hold herbs for use during rite.

MOON SHELLS: Healing, psychic powers & peace.

OYSTERS: Love, sex, fertility & good fortune. Can be used like the abalone

shell.

TOOTHED SHELLS: Money spells.

SPIKED SHELLS: [Example murex & others.] Protection, banishing.

SAND DOLLARS: Wisdom. Can be used as a pentacle or Goddess symbol.

SCALLOPS: Travel spells. Goddess symbol.

SEA URCHINS: Protection of Goddess. String & hang in the home for protection.

Shells are used for protection around the home & garden, used in rites &

spells & placed on altars & shrines both indoors & out side. Place near or in

fish ponds, pools, fountains & bird baths or keep them in the bath room.. Can

also be used as an of fering to trees & plants, for they eventually break

down & provide fertilizer for them.

SEAWEED is also used for weather spell work, it is also usedin health &
