MEETING THE KING OF THE ELEMENT FIRE. ELEMENTS 11.

1. Do this meditation on a sunny day while sitting in the sun, or inside near

a sunny window or outside near a fire.[ night is best.]

2. Now close you eyes & take several deep breaths to relax.

Breathe in the energy created by the sun, feel its warmth, know that with

each breath you are aligning with your fire element more closely. Notice how

this energy of sun & fire dances on your face & body, feel it moving in your

veins & arteries, feel it caress your skin, know that the power of fire is

alive & well within your body, filling it with the passion for life.

Now breathe deeply again of the suns energy & know that as you do, you are

calling forth your own personal salamander to help you in meeting the King

of the Element Fire.

3. As you relax, begin to visualise the scene changing around you. You are

standing at the base of a great volcano. The Earth about you is charred &

parched. Steam rises sporadically from cracks & fissures in the Earth. The

sun is strong upon your face & head. The whole area appears parched &

lifeless, but you are stimulated & you know you would not be so if there were

no life here.

Although the sun is warm upon you it is not uncomfortable. In fact you find

it powerful & stimulating. With each breath you seem to draw more of its

energy into you, as if you can draw it in & radiate it back again. As you

breath deeply, the Earth trembles beneath your feet. You raise your eyes to

the mouth of the volcano above you & suddenly see it as a portal between

worlds. Steam & flames erupt suddenly from it, filling the air above with

heat & light. The colours of the flames are intense, s o strong that the sun

is lost behind them & just as suddenly, all is still.

You are not afraid. Instinctively you know that in spite of the activity

there is no danger. In fact you are thrilled & feel more alive now than you

have felt in ages.

Then again the Earth trembles beneath your feet. Some of the fissures &

cracks widen, fire & steam pours forth from them. It is beautiful ! You are

amazed at the play of the flames darting through the seams & cracks as they

rise up, then disappear, t o reappear somewhere else. Then you notice that it

seems to be moving towards you. At first fearful of what its temperature

might be, you are surprised to find it warm & soothing. There is a powerful

gentleness to it that borders on the erotic & energises you on all levels.

It is a fire that does not burn & destroy but energises.

As it forms around you the volcano disappears from view, as does the sun. You

are immersed in the swirling steam & dancing flames, then you see the vague

outline of a form within. The flames & steam actually seem to be dancing

about it, as if it were the centre of their life & activity. Somehow you know

that this must be Djinn, King of the element of Fire.

You whisper His name, more to yourself than to Him, but the flames respond &

you feel warm air rush over you, as though being breathed upon. The flames &

steam shift even more. The figure becomes more defined.

A second time you speak the name this time louder, bolder & directly to the

form. The flames rise in response, increasing their activity & giving forth

more light. The steam shifts & begins to dissipate. The figure becomes even

more distinct & now be gins to move. A third time you speak the name of

Djinn, you sing it out loud & clear, passionately, as if you are being

enflamed yourself. The steam parts, the flames rise then disappear. Djinn

steps forward to stand before you. He is tall & looks like the traditional

Geni of lore. He is dressed in brilliant reds & oranges, the material looks

strange for it mimics the flames & you are sure you can see tiny flames

dancing in His eyes. His face is passionate & strong, yet keeps shifting, so

that i t seems it too, is like the flames around Him. The energy comes off

Him in waves, like heat rising from a road on a Summers day. Occasionally

tiny flames leap up & then disappear around Him.

He motions with His hand for you to follow Him & you feel a rush of warm air.

He moves towards the mouth of the volcano & you follow. He stops at the edge

& you both look down & see the molten earth & fires of heat.

Djinn reaches down & draws a tiny flame out of the volcano. He then takes one

of your hands & holds it palm up. Your eyes widen fearful of what the flame

might do & a wave of courage & strength fills your being. Your hand steadies

& you nod to Him, H e places the flame upon the palm of your hand. You laugh,

for it tickles & feels strange, you are inwardly relieved that it did not

burn. Djinn smiles briefly at your amazement & relief. You gaze at the flame

in wonder for it is dancing about in your hand, you realise it is alive &

that it is a fire elemental & friendly. Djinn now speaks & His voice is

filled with great warmth & compassion:

" Fire is essential to life, yes, it can burn & destroy, but also soothes &

creates. You could not exist without fire, nor could anything upon this

planet. Where ever life exists, fire also exists, from the heart of the

planet to the heart of human. When we learn to control our passions, we

have control of that which we create. When we have no control over our

passions, our inner fire, we destroy, & are at the mercy of whatever fire

may be burning. With no control, life plays you, rather than you playing it.

The key to controlling the outcome of ones life is the control of the fire

elements. You must develop the courage to dance with it, to burn the old

with it & stimulate new birth."

Djinn takes the flame from the palm of your hand & drops it back into the

volcano. As it touches the centre, a ripple of flames spread out from that

point to form a circle of fire. In the midst, images begin to form.

You see the Earth & the Sun & the force of its fire as essential to life upon

the planet. You see the changes in seasons & how the raising & lowering of

temperature is a catalyst to stages of growth for plants, animals & humans.

Then you see yourself & the fires of your own metabolism.

You see how vigorous physical exercise & dance stimulates activity of the

fire element within you. You see how it is tied to sexuality & eroticism,

both physical & spiritual.

Then the images change & you see the passions you have had & did not act upon

You see those times you used your fire to show courage & strength, if only

to fulfil the responsibilities of your life. You see ideals you wished to

explore & you see where you stepped from them to easier, safer paths. You

see times when you used anger to hurt some one in word or deed & how the

fire blazed in your body.

The images shift again. You see times in which you expressed courage &

succeeded & you see yourself shinning with fire at such times. You see times

you went through great changes & upheaval & you see your own fires growing

stronger to help you. You see times when you were ill & the element fire

within you alerted you to infections & disease, bringing swellings, redness,

heat & fever, & how the heat of these elementals fought off the enemies of

your physical health by destroying them with fire. You see the many times

things have ended & people have left your life taking some of your fire with

them & you see the many times new people & situations have arisen that

stimulated new fires within you & you begin to understand the energy of fire.

Djinn speaks once again: " Most never understand how to use my element.

Fire gives courage & strength where there is no one else to depend on. Fire

enables us to leave that which is no longer beneficial & get that which we

desire most. Fire aids us in all our magical work, giving us will power,

strength & energy. Fire enables us to see new opportunities. Fire heals &

destroys, but you cannot have destruction without creation. Learning to work

with fire is learning to follow your own passions & your own rhythm. As you

follow your own rhythms, your fire will grow stronger & you will find that

that which did not work, now will.

As you attune to the element of fire & those of us who live & work within it,

your passion for life will increase.

You will find your own personal rhythms for living & you will find the

courage to follow them. It is then that life takes on new light, & no matter

what the ashes of your personal life circumstances may be, you will rise from

them like the

Phoenix ."

Djinn extends His hand back into the molten lava of the volcano. As He with

draws it, you see it holding a piece of flint. He places it within your hand

& as He does flames & steam rise from the fissures around the volcano, the

sun reflects off it & for a moment you are sure that flash of light off the

flint had a musical note.

Djinn speaks once more: " This is a sign of my promise to work with you &

help open the mysteries of Fire to you. Fire is powerful & many societies

made sacrifices to the Gods & Goddesses of this Element. It burns while it

heals, it destroys while it creates. It strengthens & empowers those who work

with it. By learning to work with it, you will learn what you must release in

order to grow. It carries great responsibilities. If you accept this, your

passions & visions will grow. You will become catalytic in your own life &

also in the lives of others, for good or bad. You will find the law of cause

& effect manifesting more clearly & more rapidly, for good & for bad. You

will learn about physical & spiritual alchemy. Your old self will die, so

that a new self may be born. If you are unsure of this commitment leave the

flint upon the ledge of this volcano, here it will remain until such time as

you choose to take it upon yourself. The choice is yours."

The flames from the volcano rise up, Djinn nods to you & steps off the ledge

& disappears into the flames. You hold the piece of flint before you &

examine it, thinking about what you have learnt & then make your decision.

The image of the volcano & the sun begins to fade, you find yourself back

where you started your meditation.

BLESSED BE.
